The Pre-Diploma Programme is a one year course prior to the actual IB Diploma Programme. You will follow a course of study which is in many ways similar to samhällsvetenskaps- and naturvetenskapsprogrammet in the Swedish national system.
The IB Diploma Programme (DP)
The IB is a comprehensive and rigorous two year curriculum, leading to an IB-Diploma. The general objectives of the IB are to provide students with a balanced education to facilitate geographic and cultural mobility and to promote international understanding through shared academic excellence. What you will study
The IB Diploma Programme is intended for students who wish to study the equivalent to the Swedish samhällsvetenskaps-, naturvetenskaps- or ekonomiprogrammet. The IB Diploma programme prepares students for success in higher education and to be active participants in a global society. The language of instruction on the IB Diploma programme is English.
Students choose courses from among the following subjects: biology, chemistry, physics, environmental systems, economics, business management, psychology, history, global politics, mathematics and languages. The DP curriculum is made up of six subject groups and the DP core, comprising theory of knowledge (TOK), creativity, activity, service (CAS) and the extended essay.
Through the DP core, students reflect on the nature of knowledge, complete independent research undertake a project that often involves community service.
The programme’s six subjects, some at a Higher level, are studied in small, focused groups and are examined at the end of the two years by examiners all around the world. Students who graduate are awarded an internationally recognized diploma.
The IB Diploma Programme is well regarded by leading universities across the globe, based on their experiences. IB students possess a broader range of skills that enhance their ability to adapt and contribute to university life.
